Banana bread

It’s the same old story… one day, you bought a bunch of bananas, but then you fail to eat them in time, and they slowly turn brown. So, time to shed some tears and through them away? No, our American readers will already have guessed what we are going to do, we are going to bake a banana bread instead. This one is a little special though, since it hides a whole banana in its core. Yummy!

Ingredients

  • 250 gr self-raising flour
  • 1/4 of a nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 125 gr butter
  • 125 gr caster sugar
  • lemon zest
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 bananas, mashed with a fork
  • handful of sultanas
  • 3 tbsp

Pumpkin soup

Pumpkin soup. A wonderful Halloween or autumn soup. The color and the way of serving with cream and chopped herbs makes almost everyone happy. The sweet taste is what most eaters find delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 small pumpkins with thin skins (about 1.2 kilos together)

Power food for sailing

The vegetarian lentil tart/quiche

There we went for a weekend of sailing to the Netherlands. Up to Aalsmeer, which is not only known for the lake for sailing but also worldwide famous for the international flower market. On board of the polyvalk we wanted to go faster than the wind, but unfortunately the wind was not really present that weekend.
